ABOUT

*Updated as of March 2014: This website is in the process of being revamped and moved to another host.*

I’m a 20something travel enthusiast and amateur photographer who enjoys exploring off the beaten track. I prefer chatting up locals to sightseeing, street food to fine dining, hiking to shopping, and villages to cities. Africa and Southeast Asia are definitely my top travel regions.

Born and raised in Markham, a suburban city in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada, I’m an aspiring mathematician studying at the University of Waterloo. I love dancing, rock climbing, and hip hop culture. I dislike the corporate world and the financial industry. I think tattoos are awesome and I’ll be collecting them as I travel! I’m vegetarian, also avoiding egg and dairy as much as possible. With both my parents from Guangzhou, China, I am conversable in Cantonese. I can also understand some French, Mandarin, and Taishanese.

“Ninapenda dunia” translates to “I love the world” in Swahili, a language of East Africa. Kenya was the first country to truly spark my wanderlust, hence the name and address of my photoblog. Thanks for checking it out and I hope you enjoy my photos!
