Women in Town

  • Rift Valley, Kenya.

This was actually in a small town that we drove by on our way from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park. There are many of these little towns built around part of a major highway that runs throughout southern Kenya. I believe the road was built for tourism (which is one of Kenya’s biggest industries economically), and that the towns were situated there for both convenience of the road and the potential income from tourists passing by. I do wonder how far the children from these towns have to walk to get to school every day. (Or whether many of them go to school?)
