  Walked past a group of men while shopping at night on the streets of downtown Dubai in the Deira district. Although UAE has the highest male-to-female ratio in the world, it is generally safe for a woman to be walking alone in Dubai at night due to the strict laws against stealing. UAE doesn’t follow Sharia law, but its values are still widely held in its Muslim-dominant society.
